For all the fitness enthusiasts and Adam Levine fans out there, AskMen India shares details about the Maroon 5 singer’s intense workout here.

Overhead press

Adam Levine’s fitness trainer Austin Pohlen’s first video gives us a glimpse of the singer performing a seated trap bar overhead press which is hailed as one of the best exercises to enhance stability and develop the shoulder muscles mass. Apart from toning the upper body and strengthening the core muscles, this compound exercise which can be performed with multiple variations also improves the body’s posture.
Simple steps to follow:

  • Sit on the floor with your back straight.
  • Relax your shoulders and hold the trap bar.
  • Extend your arms above your head.
  • Return to the original position.
  • Repeat.

Stop and Go Dumbbell rows

Giving a twist to the usual dumbbell row workout Pohlen upgraded Levine to the stop and go dumbbell rows to increase the outcome. While the new form minimises the momentum, it adds more pressure on the core, back and shoulder muscles. Plus it also gives the upper body a full stretch each time you lift and raise the dumbbell after releasing it. While the usual dumbbell row focuses more on the back muscles, trying out Levine’s innovative workout will surely improve your core strength as well.
Simple steps to follow:

  • Place one hand on the bench with your back straight.
  • Hold the dumbbell in your other hand.
  • Raise the dumbbell to your chest.
  • Return to the original position and release the dumbbell.
  • Hold it in your hand again and repeat the above steps.

Landmine rotations

Another simple yet effective workout inspiration that you can take from the Maroon 5 singer is the landmine rotations. One of Levine’s fitness trainer Pohlen’s favourite core strengthening exercises, the landmine rotations is a functional workout that will test your fitness levels while improving flexibility and toning the obliques.
Simple steps to follow:

  • Stand straight while holding one end of the landmine.
  • Place the landmine in front of you.
  • Move the landmine to your left.
  • Try to keep your arms as straight as possible while in motion.
  • Return to the original position.
  • Now, move the landmine to your right.
  • Return to the original position.
  • Repeat.

Half-Kneeling landmine press

Focusing on improving upper body strength, Adam Levine can be seen doing the single hand half-kneeling landmine press. With several variations at your disposal, fitness trainer Austin Pohlen opted for this workout to help the Maroon 5 singer strengthen his shoulder muscles in the easiest way possible. Apart from this, the half-kneeling landmine press also targets the obliques which help in enhancing balance and building core muscles.
Simple steps to follow:

  • Get down into a kneeling position with your right knee on the ground.
  • Hold one end of the landmine with your right hand.
  • Place the landmine in front of you.
  • Push the landmine straight up.
  • Lower to your shoulder height.
  • Repeat.
  • Now try the above steps with the other hand with your left knee on the ground.

The pop sensation is giving us major fitness goals.
