United States: No longer will the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest regular Covid shots for healthy children and pregnant people, according to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
More about the news
According to Kennedy, the vaccine should not be given to “healthy pregnant women,” though it was not clear who would meet that standard.
According to the CDC, being pregnant increases someone’s risk for Covid complications.
One week after Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary said the FDA would limit Covid vaccines to older adults and those with medical issues, the CDC has announced the same change.
Before healthy children and adults can receive new Covid shots, they must first complete lengthy placebo-controlled clinical trials.
From the start, Kennedy has stood against several vaccines, together with the Covid shot.
The @CDCgov has officially removed the COVID vaccine recommendation for healthy children and pregnant women.

In the same year, he completed a citizen petition asking that the FDA take back its approval of the vaccines.
In the same year, he claimed the Covid vaccines were the worst ever made because some young men had experienced rare myocarditis after being vaccinated.
It is more likely that people who have Covid will get myocarditis, and the illness is usually more severe than after vaccination.
During Kennedy’s period as head, the FDA held up Novavax’s approval before eventually approving it earlier this month.
The FDA chose to only allow the use of the vaccine on people above age 65 and anyone 12 and older with a medical condition that makes them more likely to become very sick. No one in the US is required to get the Covid shot.
