United States: According to the state health officials, there are around 46 people who have recently been hospitalized in a “foodborne illness outbreak” after sharing a common food item at their workplace in Maryland.

According to Howard County Fire & Rescue, which responded at 3:45 p.m. Monday to the 7700 block of Chesapeake Bay Court in Jessup, which is situated fifteen miles southwest of Baltimore, when reports of food poisoning felling several sick “after allegedly eating the same food.”
The department added that 46 adults were examined and had been shifted to various hospitals.
About the incidence
According to NBC affiliate WBAL of Baltimore, the workers reportedly became ill around an hour after consuming a noodle dish.
Investigation has been going on in Cohoot with the Howard County Health Department and the Maryland Department of Health to find out the exact cause of the incident.
The department noted, “Preliminary indications are that the illness was related to outside food prepared by an employee and shared with others at the facility,” NBC News reported.
Moreover, the department is working on questioning those who are affected to understand “more specific details about the food in question.”
“At this time, we are not aware of any further illness connected to this incident and believe there is little risk to the larger community,” the department said.
The risk is contained – officials
As per the officials, all forty-six who had been hospitalized were released.
As per the Maryland Health Department statement, it was “not currently aware of any risk of further illnesses connected to this incident.”
The incident has been unfolded at NAFCO Wholesale Seafood Distributors, as reported by WBAL.
Stanley Pearlman Enterprises, which is the parent company of NAFCO, has asked the outlet that the food that led to the illness did not come from the facility.
According to the company, “NAFCO operates under the highest health and safety standards in the industry. Our headquarters and facilities are regularly inspected and monitored by the relevant health authorities to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations,” NBC News reported.
